A SWEET VICTORY

All victories that stop animals from being brutalized in vivisection laboratories are especially sweet. Our friends at White Coat Waste are kind enough to give shared credit to everyone who emailed Congress for the de-funding of the Department of Justice’s program of shooting, stabbing, and burning alive goats, pigs, sheep, and other animals. But WCW has been lobbying Congress since 2019 to make this happen so they can take credit for being the driving force that pushed this issue forward. The FBI and the U.S. Marshall’s Service have spent $130,000 of our tax dollars on the pretext that vivisectors have to practice dealing with “traumatic injuries” on animals for the sake of helping humans. Vivisectors know better than anyone that you cannot learn about injuries to humans by mutilating animals. They also know that doctors have plenty of experience dealing with human traumatic injuries, and simulators are available for training purposes. Last year Congress defunded LTT (live tissue training) for the first time, and now that funding prohibition has been renewed.

Members of Congress who have helped make this happen are Matt Cartwright (D-PA), Rep. Madeleine Dean (D-PA), Jerry Nadler (D-NY), Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA), Matt Gaetz (R-FL) with Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) being especially effective in making the de-funding possible. If any of these members of Congress represent your state or district, let them know how much you appreciate what they have done for the animals.

To White Coat Waste, Anthony Bellotti, caring members of Congress, and all of our supporters who took part in this campaign we are immensely grateful. These precious animals are well worth our efforts to save them from the horrors of the vivisectors’ laboratories.
